Jonathan Cornell, MA, LPCC

Everyone needs support and to feel empowered when faced with their own unique challenges and struggles.  I strive to provide compassionate care for clients navigating a tough time in life. Helping someone find their space to heal, and gain the insight and skills to recover, grow and thrive again, is why I love being a therapist.

My approach is strengths-based and solution-focused, caring and affirming, and provided with respect and non-judgment. Together we look to find clues into what those strengths are that are special and unique to you and how to nurture and utilize them. Much value is given to all personal beliefs and systems including family, social, individual, cultural, and religions affiliations. Everyone has their own gifts and strengths and healthy ways of coping and thriving, and we can discover those together.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC and have a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University, and I also am a professional musician with a MA from Manhattan School of Music, NYC. My experience includes work with dual diagnosis, depression and anxiety, substance abuse, trauma informed care and PTSD, chronic health conditions, schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, a passion for LGBTQ issues and diverse populations, all couples and families, and a special interest working with those in the performing arts.
