A Little About Me…

I am a Trans Non-binary person who is married and has three teenage children.  I completed a Master’s of Science in Social Work at the University of Louisville in 2013 and received my license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2016.  I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in private practice since then. I first began working in the mental health field in 2004 by working on the crisis and suicide hotline. I loved working there for eight years while I went to college and completed my license requirements.  From the first phone call on the crisis line, I knew that working to empower people was what I wanted to dedicate my life to.  I feel completely honored to have the opportunity to partner with you on your path to recovery.

When You Come to Your Appointment With Me, You Might Experience…

I’m committed to providing a safe environment for you to relax and share your truth.  You can count on me to always be on your side without judgement.  After all, who am I to judge you?  I’ve never walked a step in your shoes.  I’m here to support you and help you find your healing.  The first appointment will include an intake assessment and an opportunity for us to get to know each other and decide if I’m the best provider for you.

My Training and Speciality Work Includes…

I am a person-centered therapist and I’ve been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with an emphasis on Mindfulness.  I have also received training through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

I’m most comfortable working with…

As a Trans person, I have a special desire to work with Trans and Queer people.  While our journeys are not exactly the same, I can bring a personal understanding to our work that can be very helpful.  I also love working with anyone who is dealing with life stress, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.  I love working with individuals, couples and families.

In my free time you might find me…

My favorite hobbies are hiking and biking.  I love to find new places to explore in nature.  You can often find me hiking the trails at Jefferson Memorial Forest or biking on the Louisville Loop.  I also love to spend time with family and friends.  I’m working on increasing my time reading books… maybe you can suggest my next book?
