A little about me

Hello! My name is Allison Recktenwald. I am a Licensed Psychological Associate, where I work completing neuropsychological testing and therapy services. I received my master’s and bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Louisville. When you come to your appointment with me, I will work to build rapport with you and create a trusting therapeutic relationship. I have worked completing neuropsychological testing in various settings, where I have developed experience in diagnosis and treatment planning. I also have experience working in crisis centers and in inpatient psychiatric settings. I specialize in working with those who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, and other relational trauma. With being certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I can work collaboratively with clients on understanding life stressors and previous traumas and how they affect one’s daily functioning. When I am not working with clients, you can find me hiking, working in my garden, or spending time with my adorable niece. I look forward to working with you on your mental health journey!
