Providing Treatment In: Kentucky

A little about me

I am a dual certified advance practice registered nurse specializing in psychiatric mental health and family practice. I have nine years of advanced practice experience with 18 years in nursing altogether. I am originally from eastern Kentucky and have been married for 27 years and have two sons. I love to travel with my family every chance I get. I love music, true crime documentaries, but most of all helping others.

When you come to your appointment with me, you might experience

In an appointment with me, you will have someone who listens to your needs and
develops an initialized plan that works for you. No two people are the same; therefore, it is imperative to focus on each individual as just that. My goal is to build a trusting,
therapeutic relationship with my clients.

My training and specialty work includes

I earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and my master’s degree in nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University specializes as a family nurse practitioner. I worked for nine years in both neurological and cardiovascular ICUs as a registered nurse before I deciding to return to school to become a advanced practice registered nurse. I practiced as a family nurse practitioner in pediatrics, family practice, urgent care, wound care, and home health for seven years. During this time, I became aware of the urgent need for psychiatric providers when three of my oldest son’s friends committed suicide while waiting for care. It was these tragic events that prompted me to return to school once again to obtain my psychiatric mental health certification from Frontier Nursing University. I went on to complete my doctorate in nursing from Frontier Nursing University focusing on suicide prevention and decreasing the suicide rates through appropriate screening and individualized treatment plans. Suicide is a PREVENTABLE death. If you are struggling or know someone struggling, please reach out for help. Your life matters!

My specialties include depressive disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, post
traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, psychotic disorders, and attention deficit
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
