Providing Treatment In: Kentucky
A little about me
I am dual board certified as a family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health practitioner with over 17 years experience in healthcare. I was born and raised in Louisville but traveled far and wide and am forever in search of new places and experiences. I feel passionate about treating the whole patient focusing on mind and body.
When you come to your appointment with me, you might experience…
a comfortable atmosphere where laughter is encouraged and may even at times follow tears. To quote the great Dolly Parton – “laughter through tears is my favorite emotion.”
My training and specialty work includes
I received my BSN from Bellarmine University followed by my MSN from University of Louisville. I have worked in-patient with children and adults dedicating over ten years of this time to oncology and palliative services. I quickly recognized the role that caregivers play and the profound impact chronic illness has not only on the patient, but on loved ones alike. I therefore went back to school to obtain my post masters certification in psychiatric mental health from Western Kentucky University.
I’m most comfortable working with
anxiety, depression, mental unrest, attention and focus issues, and adjustment disorder. I have special interest and experience working with individuals bearing the weight of chronic illness such as cancer, receiving treatment, surviving treatment, and their caregivers.
In my free time you might find me
Running. You will pretty much find me running at all times – both figuratively and literally – trying to keep up with my kids, trying to keep up with my own restless mind, and trying to keep up my wild dalmation, Mac.
